I trained in one of the most advanced sciences there is. Then I named my company in Latin.

Because the instruction we most need isn’t modern at all. It’s ancient: look within.

Why it matters

The Intueri Project exists because modern life is making us more connected, more informed and more efficient, yet often less present, less imaginative and less connected to ourselves. In a world of constant input, instant answers and endless optimisation, it is easy to lose touch with the inner intelligence that helps us think clearly, create boldly and relate meaningfully.

Intueri means “to look within”. It is not an invitation to reject technology, productivity or progress. It is an invitation to use them without losing ourselves in the process. We explore what happens when people understand their own inner operating system, their patterns, instincts, energy and attention, and use that awareness to live, work and contribute with greater clarity.

Because the cost of disconnection is not only burnout. It is a loss of attention, imagination and belonging. It creates reactive workplaces, fragmented communities and cultures that are busy, but not always moving forward. When people are constantly distracted, depleted or disconnected from their own inner compass, they become easier to divide and less able to access the creativity, curiosity and flow that real progress requires.

The Intueri Project brings bold ideas and practical reflection to workplaces, cultural events and conversations shaping the future. We create space to reconsider what productivity, wellbeing and human potential can look like, not as more extraction from people, but as a more evolved way to live, create and contribute.

A society that can pay attention has the potential to imagine. A society that can imagine can change.

Melanie Sawford

Founder of The Intueri Project.

Melanie Sawford is the founder of The Intueri Project. She holds an MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience, a BSc in Psychology, and an accredited Advanced Diploma in Intuitive Psychology Coaching — a rare intersection of the science of the mind and the applied work of lasting change.

Melanie trained in one of the most advanced sciences; she had the qualifications, the life that looked right on paper, yet she was still burnt out, full of other people's noise, and no longer sure who she was underneath it. Adding more hadn't worked. The instruction that finally did was ancient: look within.

So, one day Melanie gave herself a project — to find the person buried under all the noise and burnout — and named her company after it: The Intueri Project, from the Latin intueri, to look within.

What began as a personal search became her field of work — and two sciences gave names to what she'd lived through. The first is the default mode network: what the brain does the moment the outside world goes quiet — the state where insight forms and a person thinks as themselves again. The second is interoception: how the body and brain read their internal state, the signals that shape what we feel, decide and trust. Long overlooked, both are now among the most exciting frontiers in the science of the self — and Melanie's work is part of a growing movement taking them from research into everyday practice. Together they named what she'd lived: that the way back wasn't more thinking but going quiet enough to hear what was underneath.

Today, that same path is her work.

The Intueri Project — a scientist's journey back to the self, and an invitation to take yours.
